PURIM at the Beis!🎭
Purim Sameach! Happy Purim!
We'rexcited to celebrate a fun and meaningful Purim with you! This one will be especially unique, with Purim occurring on Thursday night/Friday -- and we're going to be bringing Purim into Shabbat! For our annual community Purim celebration/meal, we're going to have it Friday late afternoon at the tail-end of Purim, and then transition into Shabbat prayers, and then transform our Purim meal into a Shabbat meal. It'll be a special experience, and you won't want to miss it!

Whether you're a Purim pro, or trying it out, or anywhere between, we've got something special for you!

You can fulfill all FOUR mitzvot of Purim at the Beis:
1. Megillah 📜 at night & day
2. Matanot l'evyonim 📩 (gifts to poor)
3.  Mishloach Manot 🧺(Daytime gifts of food to one another)
4. Seudah/Festive Meal 🍽️🍷

More details, and signup for Mishloach Manot and Seudah, below! and email Hart or R Tanya with any questions.
  • Please note, rsvp for Seudah is complete with payment.  We invite those who can, to help us cover any guests who aren't in position to pay baseline suggested contribution.

3. Mystery Mordecai Mishloach Manot
Purim has a great tradition/obligation of Mishloach Manot - giving gifts of food to friends. It stems from the transformation of the Jews in the Purim story from being scattered and persecuted to coming together in redemption.
The way this works is you sign up here, and then we'll randomly assign you someone for whom you have to give, and someone who will give to you on Purim day (Fri March 14) -- that way everyone will be a giver and a receiver! Feel free to be creative - Mishloach Manot just has to be 2 different food items.
4. Purim Seudah!
Join us for a Purim Seudah (festive meal) - happening at the Beis Friday late-afternoon (March 14th) starting at 5:00! We'll have delicious catered food, and of course, song and spirit(s)!
We'll then take a quick break to bring in the Shabbat spirit with candlelighting, song and prayers at 6:40.
Then we'll re-take our seats at our transformed Shabbat dinner with kiddush and additional food and spirit!

If this sounds like a trip -- it will be! Come, bring a friend, bring a song, but most importantly, bring yourself--your full, real (or transformed) self.
Are you signing up for anyone else who's coming with you?

How else would you like to contribute to the meal?
Purim on Erev Shabbat is an unusual situation and if you enjoy exploring halacha, jewish laws and traditions, and you'd like to learn more about this unique opportunity to combine the Purim & Shabbat meal, here is a piece of scholarship in English by Rav Dov Linzer that explains it:
