Sporting Event Organizer of the Year (for-profit)
Sporting event organizer must represent a for-profit organization. Nominees must have exhibited professionalism throughout multiple phases of event execution, demonstrating the ability to work in concert with the host hospitality community.
Nonprofit Sporting Event Organizer of the Year
Sporting event organizer must represent a nonprofit organization. Nominees must have exhibited professionalism throughout multiple phases of event execution, demonstrating the ability to work in concert with the host hospitality community.
Community Hero Award (Volunteer of the Year) Please include specific event he or she worked.
Awarded to a volunteer who demonstrated an outstanding commitment to their local community and/or sporting event. The winner will receive complimentary travel (including air and hotel) to Connect Sports Marketplace to be recognized for their contribution.
Sports Supplier of the Year (excluding hotels)
Nominees must include individuals from a CVB, sports commission or service provider (excluding hotels) who has made significant contribution to the success of the sporting tourism industry.
Hotel Professional of the Year. Please include hotel name and/or company
Awarded to a hotel professional, regardless of department or job function, who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to a sporting event or athlete(s) that they have hosted.
Best Amateur Sporting Event of the Year
Nominated events must be sporting events that are primarily focused on amateur/youth athletes.
LGBTQ Sporting Event of the Year
All nominees must be primarily LGBTQ-athlete focused and have a component that benefits the host community.
Fastest Growing Sporting Event
Nominees must be able to demonstrate a significant increase in growth (number of registered athletes, room nights, or both) over the course of a minimum of 3 years.
Best New Sporting Event (first year)
Events nominated must be original/unique and have taken place for the first time after January 1, 2016. The organizers must have demonstrated the ability to work well with their first-year partners and demonstrate strong potential and promise for future growth.
Best Homegrown Sporting Event (owned and operated by a DMO)
Nominated events must be owned and/or operated by a CVB or sports commission.
Best Adult Sporting Event of the Year
Nominated events must be primarily focused on adult (22 or older) athletes.
Sports Venue of the Year
Nominees must be a venue or facility that has hosted a sporting event, regardless of discipline, that has exceeded expectations throughout the event execution process.
