PARISH COUNCIL ELECTIONS SCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2025
Qualifications/Requirements
of Members of the Parish Council:

The following is from the Uniform Parish Regulation
of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, dated January 2019:
ARTICLE
25 – ELECTION OF PARISH COUNCIL
Section 2: A
candidate for the Parish Council must be a parishioner in good standing of the
Parish for at least one (1) year immediately preceding the date of the election
and must live his or her life in accordance with the Faith and canons of the Church.
The Priest determines whether the Parishioners are in canonical and financial good
standing as specified in Article 18, Sections 1 through 3.
Parish Council Members must be:

Actively engaged in parish life and consistent
participation and attendance the Sacramental life of the Church, especially
Sunday Divine Liturgy and a commitment to carry out the mission of the Orthodox
Church.

Committed to the well-being of the entire St.
John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church parish, not advocating a special
interest or specific committee.
· Be willing and available to attend a regular monthly
meeting in the evening, typically on the 3rd Tuesday of every month
to play an active role in the work of the Parish Council.
·
At least 18 years of age.
