Fall Running Club begins Monday, August 30th. We will be training for the North Anchorage XC Jamboree, which will be held on Tuesday, September 27th at Bartlett High. We will also be preparing for the PTA Jog-a-Thon Fundraiser which will be during the school day on Thursday, September 28th.

All Rogers Park students are welcome to attend Fall Running Club. Kindergarten students must have a parent/adult with them.

Dates and Times: Mondays and Wednesdays -- Aug 30, Sept 6, 11, 13, 18 -- from 3:30-4:30.

Where: Meet in the gym immediately after school. If your child will be going to CampFire after Running Club, they must check in first at CampFire before coming to Running Club.

Rules: 1) Students must check-in and out every day. 2) Students must stay with the group. They are not allowed to wander the halls or play on the playground. 3) Students will treat all other students and adults with respect.

Consequences: 1st time -- Warning; 2nd time -- one week suspension from Running Club; 3rd time -- expulsion from Running Club.

All practices will be outside regardless of weather. Runners should dress in running shoes, jackets, and hats/gloves as needed.

Students must be picked up by 4:30. If a student is picked up late more than once they will no longer be able to participate in Running Club. Walking home is permitted only with written parental consent.

We'd love your help. We need adults to help sign kids in and out, provide visual supervision while kids are running, run and walk with kids, encourage them... Younger, non-school aged siblings are welcome to participate and/or stay with adult volunteers. If you or someone else in your family can help, please note which days below. Touch base with Mr. Elbow when you arrive at 3:30, and we'll find something for you to do. Thank you so much in advance.
PTA Participation Fee
If you are able, we ask for a $10 Participation Fee from each student participating in a PTA sponsored after-school activity. The $10 fee helps the PTA pay for winter ice-skating, academic enrichment, classroom grants to teachers, and many other wonderful benefits to our school. Cash or check (made out to Rogers Park PTA). If you cannot pay, your child is still welcome to participate.

I also hereby consent to and permit emergency treatment for my child in the event of any injury or illness.
