GoBridge Toronto Application Form
Hi there!

We (Denise Yu, Spike Lindsey, Zach Goldstein, Max Gonzih, Mike Fridman) are running a 1-day-long, 100% free GoBridge workshop on Saturday, 21 September 2019, from 10am until 5pm, at Shopify's office in downtown Toronto.

The goal of this workshop is to grow and diversify the Go Toronto community by making it a little easier to get started with programming in Go. Johnny Boursiquot will be teaching a full-day, hands-on course, where all participants will be writing Go! Please fill out this application form if you are interested in attending as a student.

You will need to provide your own laptop for this event.

This application form will be open until August 30, and we will notify all applicants no later than September 1! If you need to know sooner in order to arrange plans, please email us at gobridge@gocon.ca.

We ask that you read over GoBridge's official Code of Conduct (https://github.com/gobridge/about-us/blob/master/coc.md) as well as Go's Community Code of Conduct (https://golang.org/conduct) before applying. These guidelines will be in place at this event.

Applicant Demographics: We will prioritize applicants who belong to one or more underrepresented groups in the tech industry. For more information, please visit the Bridge Foundry website (https://bridgefoundry.org/). If you do not belong to an underrepresented group but wish to attend, GoBridge's policy is that you may attend as the +1 of a successful applicant.

Plus Ones: We will make our best effort to accommodate all requested +1s. However, if we receive significantly more applications than spaces available, we may not be able to accommodate +1s. If you want to bring a +1 who belongs to an underrepresented group, please ask them to apply independently as well.

General information about the event can be found at https://www.bridgetroll.org/events/483. We will follow up with successful applicants to RSVP for the installation party after September 1.

NOTE: Due to a high volume of applications, requests for +1s are now disabled. It is unlikely we will be able to accommodate any +1s. If this changes your decision to apply, please email us at gobridge@gocon.ca.
