3 x 3 Rules of the GameTEAMS: Each team may consist of 3 or 4 players. COURTS: Half court. OFFICIALS: Self Officiated until Semi-Finals and Finals. Bench players will be responsible for score for the game and monitoring number of fouls.BEGINNING OF GAME:
5 Minute warm up for the first game. After preliminary games 2 minute warm up if needed.
Coin flip or Rock Paper Scissors will determine first possession.
SCORING: 1 Point for every shot inside arc, 2 points for outside of arc. Free Throws are 1 point
WIN OF GAME:
First team to 21 wins game.
To progress, the day of play, time limit is set for each game to keep all games on time. If a team has not reached 24 before other games at play it will be given a 2 minute warning. After a 2 minute warning, the team ahead in scoring will be designated as the winner.
A team shall lose by forfeit if not present when scheduled time has started, or they do not have 3 players ready to compete.
A team can be disqualified if conduct or play is not sportsmanlike determined by site coordinator.
At the beginning of the game, captains need to list players' names on the score sheet. At the end of the game, the captain needs to sign the score sheet.
FOULS/FREE THROWS:
Fouls during act of shooting inside arc will be awarded 1 free throw, outside of arc will be awarded 2 free throws.
Bonus situation after 5 Team fouls will be awarded 1 free throw. After 8 Team Fouls, Bonus + with 2 free throws.
Every foul at and after 10 Team fouls will result in 2 free throws and possession of ball.
PLAY OF GAME:
The defending team after every exchange of possession must return the ball behind the arc by passing or dribbling.
After dead ball situation, play will start with an exchange of the ball between teams at the top of the arc.
In the event of a jump ball situation, the defensive team will be awarded the ball.
Substitutions can be made only at a dead ball situation.
