iDigBio GWG Train-the-Trainers II Application
iDigBio is pleased to host the second Train-the-Trainers Georeferencing Workshop in Gainesville, Florida on August 12 - 16, 2013.

Application submission deadline Thursday May 9th, 2013.

This is a "train-the-trainers" workshop so participants are expected to have some georeferencing background. Within one year of completion of this event (by September 2014) participants are expected to organize and facilitate at least one multi-day georeferencing workshop or multiple single or half day workshops targeted at the Thematic Collection Networks (TCNs) and other digitization projects of which the participants are representative. August 11 and 17 are travel days.

Here's a link to the Agenda for the first Train-the-Trainers Georeferencing Workshop for an idea about the anticipated course content. https://www.idigbio.org/wiki/index.php/GWG_Train_the_Trainers_Workshop

The workshop leaders and trainers have extensive experience in workshops on this subject and have trained professionals around the world. Participants are expected to arrive having already reviewed prerequisite readings and videos (TBA) and with a clear idea of how they intend to apply the skills they gain to benefit the activities of their TCN or other natural history digitization projects. Participants must bring their own laptops to this workshop.

The number of participants is limited to 20 for this intensive five-day workshop. If you are interested in attending, please complete and submit the questions below describing:
1. the reason(s) for your interest in the workshop,
2. the current and future projects that will benefit from your attendance, and
3. any previous experience you have with georeferencing.
