Public Service Academy 2022-23

This application is only to be used for students entering/continuing in the Public Service Academy. If you are looking to take EMT (12th grade only) or Fire Tech (11-12th grade only), this is NOT the correct application.


In this four-year Academy students will learn a wide range of duties and functions that  will allow them to understand and certify in an array of careers focused around Emergency Medicine and Public Service.


These course provide instruction and training for students interested in health care, fire science, and protective service careers. Students who achieve competences in these academy courses will develop knowledge and skills in occupational and personal safety,  law and ethics, fire behavior, fire suppression, hazmat, anatomy and physiology, patient assessment, triage, disaster management, and response to terrorist incident education.


Students who complete all course work with a 'B" or higher, do not exceed 10 absences per semester, and comply with all other outlined academy rules will be provided an opportunity to obtain the following certification's in their respective courses:


Intro to Public Safety- 9th
ICS-100b


Fire Science- 10th
Community Emergency Response Training (CERT)

NWCG S-110


Health Science Emergency Medicine-11th
Health Care Provider- AHA CPR Certified
ICS 700a


Emergency Medical Technician - 12th
Health Care Provider- AHA CPR Certified
ICS 800b
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- AHA Certification
Pediatric Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (PALS)- AHA Certification
Emergency Medical Technician National Registry (must pass state board)
