Thank you for considering teaching at our virtual event!
We have set up a new call for virtual class proposals, and we encourage you to think about what classes in your portfolio can be easily taught virtually—that is, do not require much hands-on teacher-student interaction and can be executed with supplies students may already have. We are interested in various levels of classes—very simple classes are also encouraged, as people might not have the mental bandwidth to take very complex classes. Like always, we are looking for a variety of classes.
I’m sure you have lots of questions. To address some logistics: We will be purchasing webcams that we will send directly to you, that will allow you to toggle back and forth between your face and your tabletop. If you need additional lighting, we can send that to you as well.
Registration will happen through our website, so returning students will be familiar with the process. Once registered, they will log into our site with their username and password to access embedded Zoom videos.
The class time slots and time zones fluctuate per show
Payment is listed below. Each class is 2 hours long, and we would like to set each class at 30 students for now (but flexible on this) to see if it is manageable. (If you think you can handle more, please let us know in the form. If you think you need to start with less than 30, please indicate in the form). We will send you an attendance list for each class, and you will also be able to see and interact with your students and take attendance on Zoom. During your class, we will be dropping by to check in and make sure that you do not have any issues. Lectures (in webinar mode) are each 1 hour and will cap at 500 students. Our staff will moderate questions that are typed into the chat function and will convey important questions to the lecturer. At this time we are not going to be offering any classes as exclusive, but we will consider this in the future.
The teaching fees are as follows. We are offering a bit less than our in-person events, but bear keep in mind that you will be teaching 2 hours instead of the usual 3, and we can spread out the classes during the week so you do not have to dedicate entire days to us. We are also completely comfortable with you promoting other things you are working on, so this could be a promotional tool for you.
