About The Event
We are honored to host Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje Jr., our beloved Grandmaster, Guardian and Source of Pekiti Tirsia Kali. As a family fighting system to protect against oppressors and colonizers, Pekiti Tirsia Kali was passed down to Leo T. Gaje Jr. from his Lolo and the ancestors before him, trained in the art since he was 6 years old. In 1972, Grand Tuhon brought Pekiti Tirsia Kali to the USA, and has since then shared his family art with more than 25 countries around the world. His contribution to Close-Quarters Combat and the Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) community is unsurpassable, making him one of the greatest living legends of our time.

This exclusive training is intended for Womxn of Color/ Queer&Trans Identifying Womxn/ Indigenous and Diasporic Womxn of Color and their families to learn combat geometry, the principles of Pekiti Tirsia Kali, and the philosophy behind this sacred fighting art, blessed by the hands of the Source. Reclaim the sacred wisdom of our ancestors that has allowed us to survive and resist for thousands of years!

Survival Arts Trainings include Edged & Impact Weapon Control Dynamics, movement and body mechanics. We ask that students come prepared with water, appropriate outdoors gear, comfortable attire, and a journal for reflection work. All training fees will go to support Grand Tuhon's family back home in the Philippines. We will also have merchandise available for purchase to support the family.
