WORLD LANGUAGE Selection for 2020-2021
Dear Families,

We are very excited to offer a second-language learning opportunity to our sixth graders next year!
Most students will be ready to begin a World Language in 6th grade. (Based on learning needs, some may start in 7th grade, 8th or at the high school.)

As a family, with guidance from your child's teaching team, you will be making the decision for his/her/their middle school career. For students with IEPs this conversation should include input from the liaison. If your child will be starting a language next year, please indicate your child’s first and second language choices below.

Please know that this language choice is made for the duration of the student's middle school career in order to complete the novice level* and be ready for the intermediate level at the high school. (*Novice classes, Latin 1, French 1, Spanish 1, Chinese 1, at the HS are offered based on enrollment numbers each year. Though Spanish 1 tends to run every year, the others only when there is enough interest. There is a two-year, same-language requirement for graduation at the high school.)

Submit this Form by Friday, February 14th, 2020. Your child is guaranteed one of his/her/their top two choices. First choice preference will be given to those who make their selection by the February 14th deadline.
