If you are excited about being in Morse College and want to become more involved with the College and get paid for it too, the position of College Aide is an excellent opportunity for you. College Aides are crucial in helping the college run smoothly. They interact extensively with Head of College Panter-Brick, and the Head of College’s Administrative Assistant-II, Mary Powers. College Aides are important in shaping Morse.
The duties involve a variety of functions. The Events Aide job consists of approximately 5-10 hours every week working in the Head of College house at study breaks, Teas, Mellon Forums and Fellows Dinners. Events Aides also help with storage and have the opportunity to remain on campus for Commencement activities at the close of the academic year and return a day or so before the opening of rooms in the fall to help prepare for the opening of the college.
Scheduling is on a sign-up basis every month (you choose the events you work) and hours are not guaranteed since it is a first-come first-serve system. Although it is a sign-up, we expect Events Aides to work a minimum of 7 events a semester.
Aides are paid on an hourly basis. The current hourly rate is competitive with other on-campus jobs.
