COURSE DESCRIPTION:

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10 ESV)
“Will you even put me in the wrong? Will you condemn me that you may be in the right?” (Job 40:8 ESV)
“What advantage has the wise man over the fool?” (Ecclesiastes 6:8 ESV)
“If you come forward to serve the Lord, prepare yourself for temptation” (Sirach 2:1 RSV)
“They were led astray, for their wickedness blinded them, and they did not know the secret purposes of God, nor hope for the wages of holiness” (Wisdom 2:21-22 RSV)
Join us in exploring fundamental questions about how to live as creatures of God, how to navigate this world with its joys and sorrows, and how to endure suffering without losing the meaning of life by seeking the timeless wisdom of the Old Testament books of Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes (Qoheleth), Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) and Wisdom.

Like all the books of the Old Testament, these books are orientated to and prepare the way for the coming of Jesus Christ, Wisdom Incarnate.
