2018 Robert Brownlee STEAM Teacher of the Year Nomination
The Robert Brownlee STEAM Teacher of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding PreK-12 teacher in any Northern California county, who has created and maintained an innovative science program that expands opportunities for students. The winner will receive $1200, an annual membership to RAFT, and will be invited to a formal RAFT event in the Spring. Nominations are due by December 31, 2018 at 11:59 PM. Finalists will be selected by January 31, 2019. A the winner will be announced by February 2019.

Robert Brownlee was a scientist, a naturalist, a chromatographer, an inventor, and a philanthropist. He was the founder of Brownlee Labs, Inc., Microphoretics Systems, Incs, and the Bay Area Chromatography Colloquium. Robert Brownlee studied analytical chemistry at San Jose State University, and received his B.S. degree in 1965. He was awarded with more than a dozen patents. In 1987, he established the Robert Brownlee Foundation from his personal funds. Robert Brownlee was a visionary and his generosity continues to extend that vision to science education for young people to this day.
