We're a team of youth that have a strong connection to the Bay Area. We might live, work/volunteer, or attend school there. We're united not just by our area, but by our passion for local environmental activism.
ASAP is designed to help high school students grow and expand mainstream understandings of environmental work. The managing team and invited guest speakers draw on their niche backgrounds and strengths of environmental work and organizing to help guide students to think critically and spearhead projects they care about. Students work together in groups on climate-related projects meaningful to them and their distinctive communities. Our programming has ultimately become a network of reflective and thoughtful students.
- 8 week environmental education and community leadership development program.
- Weekly environmental education seminars, switching both remote and in-person, featuring a variety of speakers covering niche topics in the environmental space.
- Weekly logistics meetings where students report back to the group how their group projects are going.
- Remote or in-person weekly group meetings where students work on their own projects with their group
- In-person leadership orientation, gatherings at local garden or nature preserves, and 1 closing ceremony for project presentations and completion awards.
