Self-Audit: Are you ready for EMT class?
This is not designed to be a test but when you are done it will show you any answers that are "wrong." These are areas that you should examine and make sure you can overcome to have a successful experience in class before applying. Again, the "grade" that appears is irrelevant and not indicative of whether or not you should take the course - this is all about helping you self-assess your preparedness.
Are you financially ready to pay the NON-REFUNDABLE $300 that is due at the time of application?
Yes, I can definitely pay the $300 at the time of the application.
I should be able to.
Are you financially ready to pay the $1,250 tuition that is due before the end of the tuition period listed for the class you would like to take?
Yes, I can pay the $1,250 with no problem before the end of the tuition period.
I should be able to.
I plan on using the training fund form for the tuition, which is exclusively used by volunteers on rescue squads, and:
I CURRENTLY volunteer on a rescue squad.
I will join a rescue squad between the time I apply and when class starts.
When I look at the course schedule I am interested in:
I can attend all sessions without missing any.
I can attend most of the sessions but might miss 1-2 classes.
Most of the course locations are in congested areas. I have checked the distance between my home/work and the class location I am interested in and:
I can easily make it to class with time to park, walk-in, and in my seat ready to learn by the time class begins.
It will be close, but I can get there.
I might occasionally be a few minutes late.
You must attend all sessions on the schedule in-person and study in between classes. The workload is equivalent to taking 2 college courses at the same time. What statement fits you best?
I read at least at a 10th grade level and will have time to read the 1,500 page textbook while completing other assignments between classes.
I might need to look up some words from time to time and will need to try and clear my schedule to get this much work done.
Fitting in this much reading and work might be difficult.
When it comes to technology, I have:
A printer / the ability to print
All of the above.
I have used the following online meeting platforms (check all that apply):
GoToMeeting, GoToTraining, or GoToWebinar
I have not used any of these services.
I can lift:
Up to 100 lbs.
Up to 50 lbs.
I am not sure I can life up to 50 lbs.
My family and friends:
are aware that I would like to take this class and how much time I will need to dedicate to it.
are not aware yet. I will have to tell them and I'm sure they will undertstand.
I also have a job and:
I have made sure that my hours/shifts won't interfere with class.
I still have to make sure my hours/shifts will not interfere.
I understand I will have to get a health form completed for this class and possibly get vaccinations and:
I have a primary care physician or clinic that can complete this for me.
I should be able to find a doctor / clinic to complete this for me.
I am hoping you can recommend someone.
When the hospital does a background check on me for this class, they will find out:
My record is clear and I am not on the sex offender list.
I have been convicted of a misdemeanor.
I have been convicted of a felony.
I am on the sex offender list.
Physically I can (check all that apply):
Get on the floor easily.
Kneel on the floor.
Get back up off the floor without assistance.
I may struggle with at least one of these options.
This is not a test but we did mark some answers "wrong." If you see an incorrect answer when you submit this self-audit, you should:
