Tithing is always linked with prayer and fasting; by these three pillars we offer our lives to God, and thus, can be transformed and sanctified in these offerings. We do not give God our time, food and money because he needs them but because we need it. Specifically through tithing we are given the opportunity to trust God and be rid our of greed and overindulgence. Furthermore, the ministry of St. Silouan Orthodox Church is made possible by tithing and pledging members. Responsible and God-fearing financial management at the Parish level can only be accomplished when each parishioner does the same.
