GEMS Program Application for Financial Aid
INSTRUCTIONS
The GUSOM GEMS Program Application for Financial Aid Application: 2026 - 2027 is REQUIRED to be completed no later than May 15th, 2026 to be considered for institutional and federal financial aid. The financial aid application deadline applies to ALL applicants regardless of admission status (e.g. not yet interviewed, etc.).

Please use this guide to ensure you have all the information and/or documents necessary to complete your application for financial aid. The Office of Admissions & Financial Aid cannot post your financial aid eligibility to MyAccess until we receive all necessary action items for the type of aid to which you are applying.

ACTION ITEM #2 —

Complete the 2026 – 2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by 11:59 PM EST on May 1st to be considered for institutional aid. Georgetown University School of Medicine’s FAFSA Code is E00518.

Because of the FAFSA Simplification Act, you will no longer be able to provide parental/guardian financial data. As such, please see the next action item below for how to provide us this data instead to determine financial need. Please note that FAFSA data can take 4 – 8 weeks for us to receive it from the federal processor, and we will NOT be able to confirm receipt unless you have been accepted to the GEMS Program.

ACTION ITEM #3 —

Complete the 2026 – 2027 CSS Profile by 11:59 PM EST on May 15th to be considered for institutional aid. Our GUSOM school code (new window) for the CSS Profile is 3466

There is a small cost to complete the application – the fee for the initial application is $25. Additional reports for other schools are $16 each. We do NOT have access to fee waivers for the CSS Profile.

When filling out this application, please complete ALL information requested for yourself AND your parent(s)/guardian(s) (note: when applicable, BOTH parental/guardian data MUST be provided whether married, never married, separated or divorced). This is REQUIRED on the CSS Profile for ALL need-based institutional aid applicants regardless of age, independence or marital status. Though the CSS Profile may state that you should submit your parent(s)’/guardian(s)’ taxes, we ask that you DO NOT send tax documents to Georgetown Med.
