SCHEDULE OF EVENT:

The Northern Wisconsin State Fair (NWSF) is excited to be celebrating our 2nd annual BBQ Fest, Chippewa Falls WI, that will be held on our Fairgrounds at 225 Edwards Street, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729, featuring 18 cooks/teams.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Saturday, May 16, 2026

10:30am - judges registration

11am - judges meeting

12 noon - Backyard Chicken Turn-In

12:30pm - Backyard Ribs Turn-In

When signing up to participate in the competition, please select all the roles you are willing or open to do in the competition. I'm not looking for preference or first choice. You may select more than one (1) role.

ROLES:

Judge - must be a current KCBS member & Certified BBQ Judge (CBJ)

CTC (TC) - Certified Table Captain

Vol (Volunteer) - assist at the leftover table, pick up trays after TC is done with them, carry trays w/turn-in boxes from turn-in area to number changing area, assist KCBS representatives in changing numbers, etc.

APPLICATION:

Once you have applied, either Beth Welke or Brian Maki from the NWSF will contact you by phone within a week or so to inform you if you are on the confirm or waitlist. As has happened with past events, some cooks or teams have signed up 2 - 6 weeks before the competition, which makes is difficult for you as a judge and myself to prepare how many judges will be needed for NWSF's BBQ Fest. IF, at any time, you are not available or become unable to perform any of the judges' or assigned duties, please let me know as soon as possible by calling or texting Brian Maki at (715) 828-4667.

HOTEL INFORMATION: T.B.A. by mid-January

THANK YOU for wanting to be part of the NWSF's "BBQ Fest, Chippewa Falls, WI". We will be selling 50/50 meat raffle tickets, offering live music, a 30 + team cornhole tournament, a variety of food trucks, and a variety of local & regional artisan exhibitors.
