Thank you for your interest in our Virtual Talk "Help Girls Make Healthy Social-Media Choices in this Unsettling Time." As this is our first Virtual Parenting Talk, we were surprised (in a good way) by the number of participants who signed up (more than our paid business Zoom account can currently handle). We'll adjust this moving forward! In the meantime, we're happy to be able to provide you with a recording of our session, filled with resources and support. Sign up for our e-letter at www.mediagirls.org
to learn of upcoming talks!
NOTE: We'll send the recording out for new sign ups each Friday.
Talk Description: Girls were obsessed with social media way before the COVID-19, spending an average of 3+ hours a day on Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and TikTok. Now, stuck at home, they are spending even more time on these platforms. In some ways, it’s wonderful (social connection, community game playing, new potential activities) and in other ways, it’s worrisome (adding to the confusion about facts, feeling left out, being falsely convinced peers are handling the stresses of this time better). Come join Executive Director of MEDIAGIRLS Michelle Cove, as she shares best practices, conversation-starters, and tips while doling out plenty of empathy (hey, she has a 15-year-old girl at home!).
MEDIAGIRLS Mission: to teach girls and young women to know their self-worth and harness the power of media to uplift one another.
