Wait Until 9th: Family Pledge:

Our family believes in childhood. We believe in face-to-face friendships, outdoor play, family dinners, and real-world adventures. We understand that smartphones—though useful in many ways—can interfere with healthy development, sleep, attention, and self-esteem when introduced too early.

Therefore, we commit to waiting until at least 9th grade before giving our child a smartphone with social media or internet access.

We recognize this is not about perfection—it’s about intentionality. We will continue to talk, learn, and support one another as we choose connection over comparison, presence over distraction, and growth over gratification.

Together, we pledge to delay smartphones and give our child the space and time to grow up offline.
