The Gifted Academy at Highland Junior High Application, 2026 - 27 School Year
The application for the Gifted Academy at Highland Junior High is now open. In order to qualify, students must have scored 95% or higher in at least two categories  (verbal, quantitative, nonverbal) or 97% or higher in one category (verbal, quantitative, nonverbal) on a state approved cognitive abilities test (most used: CogAT)

Instructions for out-of-district students to submit qualifying scores are included at the end of the application.

The application will be open through the middle of January 2026. Families will be informed if their child has been accepted by February 6, 2026. Those who are not accepted will be placed on a waitlist, and applications will continue to be accepted throughout the spring. If there is no wait list after March 7, students will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
