Climbing Registration Form Summer Term 1 & 4 2018 - Year 2-13
This club caters for students from Year 2 to 13.
It involves a combination of bouldering and belay climbing. Students can join purely for fun and to learn new skills or to become competitive and enter climbing events.


REGISTRATION DEADLINES
Start of each term but prefer at end of term prior to ensure sufficient numbers.


AFTER SCHOOL CLIMBING DAYS
Climbing classes start either on Week 1 or 2 of each Term depending on the squad. Please see below for details.
The club will closed on Public Holidays


1. Junior & Family Squad Year 2-4 (Thursdays 3.20pm to 5.00pm)
-A family activity where students and families get to work as a team, relying on each other’s to get up the wall. An adult family member MUST actively participate in all sessions. You will not be climbing, they will be keeping their little ones safe. First 2 sessions, adults must arrive 3pm to receive safety & belay briefing
-Classes start on WEEK 2
-Classes will be cancelled if bad weather. Parents will be informed on the day by 1 pm the latest (via the email provided upon this registration)


2. Junior Squad Year 5-6 (Tuesdays 3.20pm to 5.00pm)
-Make friends and have fun at our exciting climbing wall!
Climbing is not only about getting up the wall, it is also about helping others get to the top and down safely. You will learn not only how to climb but also how to belay your friends’ up the wall
-Classes start on WEEK 2
- All weather - Indoor activities if wet


3. Middle & Senior Squad Year 7-13 (Mondays &/or Wednesdays 3.30pm to 5.30pm)
-Challenge yourself! Whether you are new to climbing or you have prior experience, our wall will is right for you! You will develop climbing skills while making friends along the way
-Classes start on WEEK 1
- All weather - Backup activities if wet


4. Elite Lead Climbing Squad Year 7-13 (Fridays 3.30pm to 5.30pm)
-You already know the bits and bobs of Top rope climbing… It’s time to take it to the next level! Be part of our exclusive Climbing Squad and learn how to Lead climb with your peers
To be accepted into this squad, you must have Top rope climbing experience and be approved by our Middle & Senior Squad coach
-Classes start on WEEK 1
- All weather - Backup activities if wet

Acknowledgement of Risk *
I understand that there are risks associated with involvement in climbing related activities and that these risks may not be able to be completely eliminated. I understand that the school has attempted to identify all the risks and hazards, which will be present during the activities, and has taken steps to eliminate (wherever possible), isolate or minimise those hazards. I understand that my child will be briefed on the hazards and all correct safety procedures. I know that I am able to ask any questions of the school to gain a better understanding of the risks involved. I recognise that participation in such activities is voluntary and not mandatory. My child and I both understand that they may withdraw from the activity if I/they feel at risk. This must be done in consultation with the person in charge. I understand that the school does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property and that it is my responsibility to check my own insurance policy.
Parent Code of Conduct
As a Kristin School parent I will to the best of my ability:
• Encourage my child and other children in their efforts in sport
• Insist that my child plays by the rules and principles of fair play
• Respect my child’s efforts and those of others at all times
• Exercise self-control as a spectator
• Always be positive and never ridicule or shout at players
• Watch my child play and let him/her enjoy the game
• Show appreciation and respect to all coaches, managers, officials and those who volunteer their time so my child can play sport
• Remember that my child plays sport for his/her reasons, not mine
• Be a positive role model for my child in my attitude towards sport
• Never place undue pressure on my child to play or perform
• Understand the laws of the game and how difficult an official’s job is in interpreting the rules

Commitment to Sport
All students who wish to play sport at Kristin are required to fully commit to the teams they play for and full attendance at trainings and/games is expected. As part of the registration process all players will be required to sign the relevant registration form, which outlines the commitment expectations for the season. Failure to uphold this agreement may result in players being stood down from games or removed from the team.

Athletes Agreement
As a Kristin sports member I agree to:
• Give my full commitment to my team
• Be punctual to trainings, pre-game warm up’s and games
• Always show respect and courtesy to my coach, manager and supporters
• Strive to achieve my personal best
• Play fair at all times
• Be respectful and polite to the opposition and the match officials at all times
• Wear the correct Kristin Sports uniform with pride for all games and bring the appropriate gear to trainings and games


(Please note that middle and senior school students are expected to text the coach if unable to attend a session)

Athletes Agreement *
