SB12 Parent Consent for Counseling Services
Dear Tidehaven ISD Parents/Guardians,

As we begin the school year, we want to ensure your child has access to the support and services provided by our school counselors. Due to recent legislative changes, specifically Senate Bill 12, school districts are now required to obtain parent/guardian consent before providing support.

Counseling Services include but not limited to:

  • Classroom lessons
  • Small group lessons
  • Short-term individual counseling
  • Minute meetings
  • Quick Check Ins
  • Campus-wide Needs Assessment
  • Community resource referrals
  • Outside counseling
  • College and Career planning
  • Financial Aid planning
  • Suicide assessment
  • Crisis Intervention
  • School wide programing

Please take a moment to review and submit your consent preferences—either opting in or out—so we can best support your student’s well-being and academic success.

Thank you for your partnership!
