FCSS Email Guidelines
The Fannin County School District provides email for professional purposes to meet the instructional and administrative needs of the district.  Please remember that per federal guidelines, network activity (including FCSS email and Internet use) is monitored by the technology department.  To maintain compliance, as well as to ensure the appropriate and professional use of district email, please review the following guidelines:

Do not send sensitive information via email, as it is easily forwarded and should not be considered secure.
Examples of sensitive information include—but are not limited to—Social Security Numbers, passwords, credit card numbers, bank account details, medical records, and other personally identifiable information (PII).

FCSS email should not be used for personal gain, personal business activities, or other non-professional purposes. *

Personnel who choose to utilize a user photo should ensure it is professional (e.g., a yearbook, badge, or other photo with both professional attire and background). *

Phishing emails are becoming more common and can appear to come from people you know. Be cautious with any email that includes unexpected links, attachments, or urgent language. Be especially vigilant when viewing them on your cell phone.

Do not click on suspicious links or provide personal information. If you receive a questionable email, forward it to phishing@fannin.k12.ga.us. If you click a suspicious link, shut down your computer immediately and contact the Technology Department. Remember, no one from FCSS will ever ask for your password via email.

Permission from an administrator should be obtained before sending a message to an entire school faculty or group (“BRES Teachers,” “EFES Teachers,” etc.).  School-based requests to send a message to the entire district should be made through the school administration.  If approved, s/he will forward the message to my office for dissemination to the district. *
