Teaching Evaluations

Questions in use from spring 2010 at Queens College, to collect student evaluations of courses and faculty.

This template may be useful for conducting informal midterm evaluations of courses. The questions can be adapted for course-specific needs, and additional questions can be added.

    General Questions

    Questions in this first block are asked for all courses.
    This is a required question
    The instructor presents the course material in a clear and lucid manner.
    The instructor interacts well with students.
    The instructor provides useful feedback (e.g., comments on written work and exams, informal feedback inside/outside of class).
    The instructor returns assignments/exams in a timely fashion.
    The instructor is available outside of class.
    Reading assignments were valuable.

    W Questions

    Questions in this second block are only asked for courses with a W (Writing Intensive) designation.
    The instructor provided opportunity for the revision of writing assignments.
    Class time is devoted to teaching elements of writing (argument, evidence, analysis, narrative, description, etc.) and the writing process (brainstorming, drafting, revising, etc.)
