HopScotch 2026 Break Application

Our 2026 programme runs from 16th March to 20th November.
Apply for a HopScotch break at Ardvullin — a fun, relaxing getaway where children and young people can make special memories.
Please read our criteria attached with your email, and confirm the statements below before sending your application.

Please describe the work your organisations currently doing with the children and young people (CYP) you are planning to take on the respite break (e.g. type of support provided, frequency of contact, and how long you have been working with them). *
Please provide details of the CYP you plan to take on the HopScotch break, including:

- how they meet HopScotch's eligibility criteria.
- why they would particularly benefit from a break at this time.
- the outcomes you hope the CYP will gain as a result of attending a HopScotch break.
- how your organisation will continue to support the CYP after the break.

This information helps us to ensure places are offered to CYP who will benefit the most, and to plan the programme to best meet their needs.

Accompanying support workers

Please provide detailed information about each adult accompanying your group, including:
Their role within your organisation.
Relevant qualifications or training.
Experience of working with CYP.

Important information:
At least three support workers must be over 18 years of age.
You may also bring additional young volunteers provided there is space on the bus but they should not take up the place of a child between 7-12 years.  The HopScotch bus has a maximum capacity of 16 passengers in total.

Please explain why your organisation is unable to fund a residential for these children.  For example, you may wish to include details about budget limitations, funding priorities, or other barriers to providing a break. *

Please send a copy of your Child Protection document  to info@hopscotch-charity.org if you are applying for the first time, if you have not applied for a HopScotch break in the past 2 years, or if you have updated your procedures since last year.
