become a barn radio host (2025)

šŸ“”Ā Ā we're now accepting daytime radio show proposals—broadcastedĀ live from our portland studio, pre-recorded, or streamed remotely from anywhere in the world.

šŸ’ÆĀ as we approach our 100th event, we're inviting you to be part of the first wave—and help shape the future of barn radio as an open-access, community-powered radio station. (think lot radio, lower grand radio, kiosk radio,Ā nts,Ā dublab, rinse fm, etc.)

ā“ why now? we are in a moment of cultural displacement.Ā small businesses are shutting down, arts funding is in decline, and access to space is vanishing—especially for bipoc, trans, queer, and other marginalized voices. we are working day and nite to build a lasting home for underground music to blossom, for those who need it. we believe community radio can be a tool for people to come together, imagine, and build a better future.

šŸ„Ā if you love music and have something unique to share, please apply. (you don't have to be a "dj")

šŸ’› share this with your friends! :)Ā

Would you like to share anything about your identity or background?
Barn Radio welcomes everyone, but we especially want to uplift BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized communities in music and sound. This question is completely optional and helps us build a more intentional and representative schedule.
Would you be open to chipping in $5–10/month to help make this sustainable?
This would go towards rent, gear, snacks, and makes it possible to stay independent and community-run.
