The Collective Philanthropy Project (CPP)
The Union of North American Vietnamese Student Associations (UNAVSA), a nonprofit, nonpartisan, community-based organization, was founded as a means for Vietnamese youth organizations from across North America to network with one another, share common resources, and collaborate on philanthropy projects. The UNAVSA staff is composed of volunteers, including young professionals and college students that come from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds committed to empowering emerging community leaders within the Vietnamese community in North America.

In 2005, UNAVSA launched the Collective Philanthropy Project (CPP) in an effort to help Vietnamese nonprofit organizations and philanthropy groups grow closer to achieving their missions through a collective and collaborative partnership with UNAVSA and its constituents. This provides a medium for UNAVSA members to support one charitable cause through advocacy and fundraising.

Since 2006, UNAVSA members have raised over half a million dollars in CPP Funds to support over 10 different non-profit organizations. Please note that organizations who are chosen as the top 3 finalists will be required to sign a contract with UNAVSA for their proposed project, regarding the terms of this process.

If you are interested in applying to be the next CPP Beneficiary, please move forward with this form after confirming that you have met the general selection criteria:
• Organization must have 501(c)(3) or equivalent non-profit status
• The organization’s mission and purpose aligns with UNAVSA’s mission, vision, and values. See:
• Must serve within the API community (international organizations are welcome)

We look forward to working with you this year! Please direct any questions to the CPP Selection Committee by e-mailing

Thank you, and best of luck!

Warm regards,
April Nguyen
