The deadline for nominations is January 31, 2019.
The Spark and Leadership awards recognize significant individual performances in Illinois prescribed fire management. The Awards recognize individuals who have gone above and beyond their normal job responsibilities and provided exemplary contributions to prescribed fire in Illinois. Awards are for management and non-management personnel through the entire range of qualifications levels.
Criteria to receive these two (2) awards include any of the below:• The Spark Award is presented to an up-and-coming individual in Illinois prescribed fire• The Leadership Award is presented to an individual for extraordinary achievements or significant efforts to get fire on the ground, or support of the prescribed fire community • Performing activities that have substantially gone above and beyond expectations of their position• Being a key contributor to a major activity or initiative
Administration:• An individual cannot receive more than one of these awards within a five-year period• The Directors of the IPFC administers these awards
Nominations:• Anyone can nominate someone for recognition by completing a nomination form• A complete nomination form must be submitted for each nominee• A Selection Committee reviews all nomination forms • The nomination form can be found below, in the following Google Form
Announcement:• Award winners will be announced at the 2019 IPFC Symposium on May 8th, 2019 and posted on the IPFC website• A photo and simple caption text will be featured on the IPFC website
