Read on for a description of Science Olympiad.

Science Olympiad is a national science and engineering competition for middle and high school students. Teams compete in regional, state, and national tournaments, as well as invitational competitions like this year's Golden Gate Tournament at UC Berkeley. Teams of 15 students study and prepare for 23 events, ranging from Anatomy and Physiology to Hovercrafts or Forensics. Some events involve laboratory experiments or written tests, while others evaluate pre-built engineering devices. Each competition consists of a series of event blocks followed by an exciting awards ceremony.

The Golden Gate Invitational has been a success for the past 6 years as the first university-led invitational on the West Coast, and we are excited to make our sixth year an inspiring experience for our competitors!
