The Maryland Youth Leadership Forum (MD-YLF) is a summer program for high school rising juniors and seniors or those graduating from any high school program in 2024 (ages 15-21)with ANY disability. MD-YLF invites approximately 30 students from across the state to come to a 3-day forum held on Towson University's campus. This year MDYLF will take place on June 24th-26th, 2024. While living on campus, students learn about leadership, the active roles they can play in their communities, and how to speak up for themselves. They discuss different forms of self-advocacy, communication skills, the history of the disability/civil rights movement, and experience meaningful social interaction with their peers. The students also meet leaders with disabilities from across the state and learn how to present legislative testimony. Ultimately, the MD-YLF experiences will help guide students to advocate for themselves, learn to live independently, and grow as individuals.
Application extended deadline is on April 1st, 2024
