The Gloucester City Youth Soccer League (GCYSL) and Nate’s Story are hosting an event on April 26, 2025 at Propieter’s Park, 225 King St in Gloucester City for the youth and families of Gloucester City, NJ. The GCYSL is one of the largest youth programs in our town and provides over 300 children with the opportunity to learn teamwork, sportsmanship and soccer. Nate’s Story is a nonprofit organization that aims to help break the stigma surrounding grief, trauma, and mental health through support, guidance, education, and perseverance. By partnering with the GCYSL organization and Nate’s Story, we are providing information and support with a day of education and fun (inflatables, vendors, food, crafts, beer garden, live music, mental health info. tables) for families and children to help in dealing with these difficult times. It is our goal to enlighten attendees on how to gain access to mental health resources as well as provide sports and fitness options to those in our community.

After losing her son Nathaniel on December 7, 2019 at the age of 19 to suicide, Michele started a Facebook group called Nate’s Story. From there she found a purpose and a path to help others, noticing a real need for change in how we deal with and talk about mental illness. She went on to start the nonprofit Nate’s Story.
