Job Description:

We design with the engineers at the centre, meaning you will have a large lead on thinking through problems, and designing systems ‘off your own back’.
Designing parts with manufacture in mind, understanding tolerances, strength of materials, isotropy and operating conditions.
A background understanding of fluid dynamics is required, preferably having done projects in a professional or academic capacity with pipe flow/pneumatics.
Importantly, you are able to self-teach to improve your skills and are constantly looking to.
You will be collaborating with Engineering Director on the main development of the robot, and liaising with the temporary manufacturing technicians and test engineers.
Must be able to communicate clearly to them, and help them schedule what needs to happen when.
We use agile development (for hardware) so will be heavily involved in design stages of the prototypes.

You'll need:

1. GCSE in English and Maths, or equivalent experience or qualifications
2. A project in which you have ‘made stuff’
3. Grasp of simulation and able to conduct FEA analysis.
4. Fluid Dynamics experience in a Professional or Academic project/ study
5. CAD Proficient
6. Able to produce engineering drawings to BS8888
