To apply for your student to attend El Rancho Charter School on an Inter-District Transfer, please complete the application below in its entirety. This form is for students who live outside of the Orange Unified School District boundaries. 

Inter-District Transfer forms are to be submitted during the Open Enrollment Period, which will be held January 13 – January 27, 2025. Once the window closes, a lottery drawing will be held for all applicants and we will notify parents upon acceptance.

Inter-District Transfer Terms and Conditions
Please review the following terms and conditions carefully before signing the form.
(1) This agreement remains in effect for the entire school year or until there is no longer space available for resident students. 
(2) Students must reapply for a transfer each school year. 
(3) There is no guarantee for space availability for continuing students or for siblings of continuing students.
(4) Space, programs, and courses must be available including Special Education programs.
(5) Any students attending El Rancho Charter School on an Inter-District Transfer must maintain regular attendance, satisfactory behavior, good citizenship, and follow all school rules. 
(6) Pupils currently residing in the school’s attendance area shall not be displaced by pupils transferring from outside the attendance area.
(7) Parents must provide transportation to and from El Rancho Charter School. School bus transportation is NOT provided for those students who live outside of the El Rancho attendance boundaries.
(8) Once the 2025–2026 Open Enrollment window ends, El Rancho Charter School will continue to accept applications until enrollment is at capacity.
(9) Incorrect or false information will result in this application being null and void.

Students attending El Rancho Charter School on an Inter-District Transfer contract must meet the following requirements. Inter-District Transfers may be revoked when one or more of the following is determined. Please read the following terms and conditions carefully. 
(1) A student does not benefit from instruction and/or disrupts the learning environment or the welfare of the student or other students is compromised or endangered.
(2) Excessive unexcused absences or tardies.
(3) Unsatisfactory behavior/citizenship or multiple discipline referrals/suspension.
(4) Failure to comply with El Rancho Charter School and Orange Unified School District rules and regulations.
(5) A parent/guardian has made false statements or misrepresentations in applying for the Inter-District Transfer.

The record of each student attending El Rancho Charter School on Inter-District Transfer is reviewed at the end of each trimester. Students who are not meeting the transfer requirements will be notified by letter or phone call and will not be invited to continue enrollment at El Rancho Charter School.
