Hello TUSD families,

Once again, TUSD will be utilizing a digital form to allow parents to apply for 2025-26 transportation services (bus passes). We ask that all families complete the transportation survey regardless of their need for school transportation. A portion of the survey asks respondents to provide information regarding their family size and to identify their income level. The information provided by families in the transportation survey is used to identify schools that can qualify for additional funding.

Historically, Tompkins, Golden Hills, and Jacobsen Middle School have qualified to receive Title I funding based on the information that was provided by families regarding their family size and income level. However, Tehachapi High School will now be added to the district's Title I school sites. In-order to maintain or increase funding levels, it is important that TUSD families participate in this survey.

In past years, the increased funding has been used to provide additional staff members such as the Learning Director, Intervention Teacher, and support staff. Additionally, the funding has provided engagement materials, intervention, and incentive programs that enhance district-funded programs.

Only one form needs to be completed per household.

The information submitted on this form is a confidential educational record and is therefore protected by all relevant federal and state privacy laws that pertain to educational records including, without limitation, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), as amended (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99); Title 2, Division 4, Part 27, Chapter 6.5 of the California Education Code, beginning at Section 49060 et seq.; the California Information Practices Act (California Civil Code Section 1798 et seq.) and Article 1, Section 1 of the California Constitution.
