At Manor Wood, enrichment refers to all the opportunities we provide beyond the standard academic national curriculum. This includes after-school clubs, educational trips, creative arts, sports opportunities, leadership roles and community projects all of which help build your child’s confidence, life skills and overall wellbeing.
We are currently auditing our provision against the Department for Education’s (DfE) Enrichment Benchmarks, national guidelines designed to ensure every school offers a broad, accessible and high-quality range of activities for all pupils. Your feedback through this questionnaire is essential to help us understand what is working well, identify any barriers to participation and ensure our enrichment offer reflects the needs and interests of our entire school community.
At Manor Wood, we divide our enrichment offer into two distinct categories to ensure every child has access to a broad range of experiences alongside opportunities to pursue their own passions.
School day enrichment refers to the immersive experiences built directly into the core curriculum and regular school hours. Every child participates in these activities as part of our enrichment offer. Examples of this includes educational trips, visiting guest speakers, hands-on workshops, Forest School sessions and special themed days that bring their classroom learning to life.
Extra-curricular enrichment encompasses the optional, choice-based activities that take place outside of regular lesson times, before school, during lunchtimes or after the school day ends. These opportunities allow children to opt-in and explore specific personal interests, develop new hobbies, or represent the school in areas like sports teams, choir, or specialist clubs.
We would be grateful if you could complete this questionnaire at your earliest convenience so that we can analyse your responses and reflect on our offer.
