Thank you for your interest in providing a healing workshop at Northern Green Gathering 2024. The event will be held over the weekend of 15th-18th August at our new site in Wakefield, details of which will be released closer to the time. The site is easily accessible from Normanton train station and the M62.
NGG is proud of the variety and quality of workshops we offer. It is the healers that create the healing field, and we are grateful to you for sharing your passion and expertise. Here is some info before you begin:
Money:
NGG is a not-for-profit company, and is run entirely by volunteers. We do it for the love and we hope you feel the same. Participation in workshops is included in the price of a ticket to the gathering, so the community can share its knowledge and experience for free. If your workshop requires materials and you would like to charge a small amount to cover costs, please let us know, so we can agree the terms. Otherwise your workshop is your entry, so please understand that you are not permitted to charge. Energy exchange is the name of the game.
Our time requirements:
We ask all workshop leaders to provide at least 4 hours of your time over the course of the gathering, and to attend an induction on the first morning you spend with us, ideally Thursday 15th August. Your workshops can be as long as you like and repeated as often as you like, as long as they total four hours or more. Please specify your workshop length on this form. In exchange for your time and skill, we will provide you with free entry to the whole event, including camping, for yourself and any children under the age of 16 who are dependent on you.
Complementary Tickets:
Our policy on partner or helper tickets (your “plus one”) has changed this year, and we are now asking that all helpers do one shift to help with the running of the event. Stewarding, crew food, welfare and site takedown are our most needed positions, but there are many ways to support the gathering and our volunteer coordinator can help your helper find a time slot that works for you both. Please ask your helper to fill out a volunteer application from the “Get Involved” page on the website and write in the last box that they are also supporting a member of the healing crew and enter your name. If you have queries about this please contact us at
healing@nggonline.org.uk.
Workshop Space:
Most healing area workshops will take place in the communal spaces provided. The main workshop structure is a large “hoopy tent” that can accommodate around 20 participants (depending on the activity). There is also a 14ft diameter geo-dome that can be used for smaller or more intimate workshops – please specify if you would prefer to hold your workshop in here.
If you would like to bring your own structure and run your own program of events, please contact us separately at
healing@nggonline.org.uk to discuss.
Power Provision:
Northern Green Gathering is an off grid Gathering so all the power used on site is sourced on site from solar and wind providers. For this reason we try to minimise energy usage and are unable to provide electrical hook-ups. We also request that no generators are brought on site, so if you need music or lighting you will need to bring your own speaker/leisure battery, etc.
Waste and recycling:
Please minimise the amount of non-recyclable packaging that you bring to the gathering, and take home as much as you can. Recycling points will be located around site to make it easy to process rubbish properly. You must leave your space clean and litter-free at the end of the event, so that we don’t have to blacklist you… :)
Arriving, setting up and leaving:
The event is open to the Public from 2pm on Thursday 15th August.
For health and safety reasons we would request that all structures larger than a 4 person tent are erected before Noon on Thursday 15th August, and wherever possible these are not dismantled until Monday 19th August.
Driving on site after noon on 15th August is restricted. We request that all vehicles are parked in the car park unless you have prior agreement to keep them on site. If you do have to go on and off site, we request you leave your car in the car park to permit safe entry and exit.
We would like to hold on to you for as long as possible after the event to help with site tat-down if you are available. No worries if you can't stay beyond Sunday, but we do ask that you don't pack up any large structures that are part of the frontage until at least 6pm on the Sunday.
Once you have completed this form we will endeavour to get back to you within a few weeks of your application. If you are accepted we will request your insurance documents if you have them.
Thank you!
