SimFileShare is a sharing service - not a backup service. Here are some very good reasons why you shouldn't use SimFileShare to backup or transfer your files:

1. Anyone can download the files you upload to SimFileShare. You should never upload personal files or information to a public sharing service.

2. Uploading files that you don't intend to share is a violation of our Terms of Use. If we find out that you have used SimFileShare to backup or transfer your files, we will delete your files and ban your account.

3. If you upload your files to SimFileShare as a backup, or to transfer them, you will have to download every single file individually on your new computer. It will take forever and you will injure your hands.

4. SimFileShare is a business which is dedicated to serving the sims community, by preserving older or less popular CC. We are able to do that because the downloads of new, popular content provide ad revenue, which pays for us to store older and less popular content. If lots of people use SimFileShare to store files they don't intend to share, then we will not be able to keep the service running, and SimFileShare will have to shut down, and some content may be gone forever.

And here are some very good alternatives for backing up or transferring your files:

1. If you are buying a new computer and you still have your old computer, you can transfer all your files directly over your wifi. This will be a lot quicker than uploading them to the internet and then downloading them again! You can find out how to do that here: https://www.technipages.com/windows-10-share-unshare-folder

Once you have shared a folder on your old computer, you just need to open a folder on your new computer and go to Network (in the left hand side). Then choose your old computer from the list, enter your username and password for your old computer, and you'll be able to see all your files - just copy them into whatever folder you want, and you're ready to go!

3. There are several free sites which are designed for sending big files from one computer to another! Try WeTransfer (https://wetransfer.com/) or Firefox Send (https://send.firefox.com/) - there are others available too.

4. Lots of cloud storage services are happy for you to use them for backups, and provide you with a lot of free storage! For example, you can get:

5. If your internet connection isn't very good, then USB drives or external hard drives are always a reliable option! They're very cheap nowadays: you can buy a 64GB USB stick for only €16, or a 500GB external hard drive for less than €50.
