Survey on the rules & management plan for the Miloliʻi Community Based Subsistence Fishing Area.
Through public process, the Miloliʻi Community Based Subsistence Fishing Area (CBSFA) was designated in 2005 through Hawaiʻi State Revised Statute §188-22.7.
This survey is to provide comments and feedback on the rules and a management plan for the Miloliʻi CBSFA which spans from Kīpahoehoe to Kaunā. The area includes approximately 18.6 miles of coastline out to a depth of 100 fathoms (See images below with more details).
The purpose of the Miloliʻi CBSFA is to help ensure high quality fishing now and in the future by addressing community concerns about the decline in marine resources and reaffirming customary fishing traditions.
The Information and comments collected through this survey will be shared with the Department of Land and Natural Resources as part of the administrative record for the Miloliʻi CBSFA Management Plan proposal.
