SAJA 2025 Board Election Nominations
Members who want to run for a position on the board of the South Asian Journalists Association MUST complete this form by 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 15, 2025.

Seven SAJA board member positions will be open, each for a two year term beginning on Jan. 1, 2026.

Candidates must:

* Be "Full Members" of SAJA (student members and associate members are not eligible to run.)
* Be based in North America
* Be prepared to commit a few hours a week on organizing events and helping run SAJA programs, among other activities.
* Attend four to six board meetings held throughout the year. Board meetings last anywhere from half an hour to several hours, depending on the number of agenda items. Meetings may be held in person or virtually. 
* Complete this form by 11:59 p.m. by Nov. 15, 2025. 

SAJA will vet the applications to ensure they comply with those requirements.

Online voting will begin on Nov. 16 and run through Dec. 17, when SAJA will hold its annual members meeting. Votes will be gathered at the meeting from any Full Member who has not already cast one online. Candidates who win the largest number of votes will be ranked in order to fill the open positions, with the election results announced at the end of the annual meeting.

Please note: As mentioned below, some application information will be posted online to help SAJA members determine their votes.

Each board member will be expected to serve through Dec. 31, 2027. The newly elected SAJA board will select its executive committee (president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and communications officer) at its first board meeting in 2026.

Board members serve as volunteers, without compensation.
