CRITICAL EYE: Visual Archives for Education is an innovative pedagogical initiative applying creative craft and digital tools with secondary education students to explore photography archives.
The aim is to offer digital tools and activity guides in order to encourage critical thinking through images in the classroom. These resources will be developed in collaboration with museums, educational institutions, professional photographers, artists and school teachers.
We strongly believe this approach towards images and archives will help us in the construction of a more critical memory which helps to understand the present and imagine the future.
With this questionnaire we try to map out important aspects to help CRITICAL EYE team to develop an activity plan for the next year. We are looking for secondary school teachers who also believe visual archives can be a useful learning tool to encourage creative and critical thinking.
The project, produced by IC Visual Lab, will be delivered by THE CAGE within the framework of the Bristol Photo Festival 2020/2021 with the support of the Arts Council of England and in collaboration with Bristol Local archives.
