Doppelganger Open Mic Open Stage //@@\\ Indie Youth Fest :::: Artiste Register

Latest update: March 2013

Welcome, fellow musicians! Thank you for stopping by.

Doppelganger KL Open Mic Open Stage was first organised in 2002 every Thursday at a venue called 'Liquid Bar'. Back then, our gigs were called Valhalla Open Mic and it was founded by Beryl Anne Tan and Jasmine Low (Jaz). After 3 years, the movement spun to a solo stint spearheaded by Jaz. Doppelganger Open Mic went on to spin a new gig series together with Jerome Kugan, Azmyl Yunor and Tan Sei Hon under a new guise, 'Troubaganger' - a marriage between Troubadours+Doppelganger. The series of gigs in 2005/2006 took place at Tengkat Tong Shin and was supported by La Bodega. Never stopping, DoPPel Kafe 'popped up' from Nov 2011 - Jan 2013 and served the community by providing it with a performance space.

It is our vision to offer musicians EVERY opportunity to perform at gigs & concerts. While we'll always try to negotiate for paid gigs, there are also sometimes there are unpaid but good opportunities to spread your name, and your music.

So if you want to perform, or want us to represent you as your BOOKER, sign up and tell us a little about you and your music. We welcome bands, singer songwriters, beatboxers, comedians - in fact, if you've got talent, tell us! We'll keep you updated when gigs come up. It's free to sign up, and you'll be updated on events as well.

Oh! Btw, thanks for signing up. As a token of our appreciation, we'll be running a lucky draw regularly and will announce the winner on our blog. Prizes vary depending on what's in our storeroom :D.
