Kehillah @ T'chiyah: Our Welcoming, Belonging and Member Connectivity Team
As T'chiyah continues to expand from its origins as a tight-knit havurah (circle of friends) into a thriving, diverse community of 100+ Metro Detroiters, we are looking to strengthen the sense of connection and belonging that members and newcomers feel with one another at services at beyond.
Thank you for indicating your intention to build T'chiyah's Kehillah ("community") work group on your membership form! Please indicate how you will be able to contribute to community-building efforts at T'chiyah.
If you have any questions, please contact Jake at
I am interested in (and have capacity for)...
Meeting to brainstorm about community-building efforts at T'chiyah
Serving as a designated greeter/welcomer at Shabbat services
Making phone calls, emails, etc. to invite members to services and/or check-in with them afterwards
Having 1:1 meetings with T'chiyah members and prospective members to build connections
Doing research to learn about how other synagogues/communities build community
Working on projects like nametag making, writing member spotlights for the T'chiyah Times, or other kinds of work
Hosting members and/or prospectives for a Shabbat dinner in the home, a social activity, etc.
What does T'chiyah do well re: member connectivity?
What do we need to work on?
