Getting the Most Out of Google Apps
Presented by Liza Zandonella, this workshop will primarily focus on features unique to Google Docs as well as cover tips, tricks and settings common to all the core Google Apps such as Drive, Gmail, Contacts, Calendar, Sheets, Slides, and more.

Presented by Kathy Swift, this 90 minute presentation will focus on the principles of Concept-Based Design that fulfills the requirement to be trained before writing curriculum.

K-4 Phonics and Phonemic Awareness
Presented by Patti Vitarelli, This workshop will explore not only the difference between phonics and phonemic awareness, but also the integral role both play in a comprehensive reading program. Participants will engage in an interactive session which will review the tenets of effective phonics and phonemic awareness instruction. The developmental stages of phonemic awareness (onset-rime, blending, approximation, counting, segmenting, substitution) and phonics (the six syllable types) will be shared, as well as interventions for students who demonstrate weakness in these areas.

Mindfulness in the Classroom
Presented by Dawn Ford and Julie Shull. In this hour long workshop participants will learn why and how mindfulness is a super power. Julie and Dawn will discuss the benefits and techniques used to implement mindfulness practice in your classroom on a daily basis.

Presented by Mike Jones, this one hour workshop will introduce you to Google Classroom, explaining how to use this with your students to distribute and collect assignments in an organized and easy to use tool without paper, while offering quick feedback and staying in communication.

Refreshing Your Teacher Website with SchoolDesk
Presented by Bev Bjorklund. In this one hour workshop participants will learn some tips and tricks to freshen up their teacher websites using many of the tools available in SchoolDesk. If you are new to SchoolDesk, Bev will also help you with your site. It is imperative that participants know your username and login before coming to the workshop. Bev will not have access to that information. If you have content you’d like to add to your pages, please bring that to the workshop. This will be HANDS ON!

Presented by Kathy Swift, this one-hour session will cover how to use Rubicon Atlas for recording your curriculum. Participants should have had a session on Concept-Based Curriculum Writing and Instruction prior to attending this workshop.

SMART Notebook 17.0
Presented by Bev Bjorklund. In this workshop, participants will learn about the new features in Notebook 17 as well as some of the issues they will have with old content. Attendees will also learn how they can refresh and adapt old content to be usable in this new version. Bev will also be available to help with any other SMARTboard questions.

Assessment Fluency
Presented by Patti Vitarelli, this workshop will explore the differences among formative, summative, standardized, and normative assessments. Teachers will gain a greater understanding of the purpose for these different assessments and what the results tell us. Participants will also have an opportunity to use their current data to determine next steps for instruction. (Participants should bring a copy of their class NWEA and Curriculum Based Assessments data to the session.)

Advanced Google Classroom
Presented by Mike Jones, this one hour session focuses on the use of Doctopus and Goobrics and is designed for users who understand the basics in Google Classroom and are ready to learn how to make, attach, and use rubrics to send immediate feedback and streamline data.

Creating Surveys & Assessments with Google Forms
Presented by Liza Zandonella. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to create, share and collaborate on surveys and assessments, as well as view responses in both spreadsheet and summary formats. Suitable for anyone new to creating surveys or assessments using Google Forms, this workshop will help participants gather data on everything from student performance and mastery to staff responses to school surveys.
