Applebaum Photography Fellowship 2019

A nine-month fellowship program for emerging to established photographers who seek critical feedback and support on a new body of work or in tangible development of an existing body of work.

ELIGIBILITY:
- Open to residents of Wayne, Washtenaw, Macomb, Oakland ages 18 and older
- Cannot currently be in enrolled in a degree program
- Must be able to attend monthly meetings (to be scheduled on weekends or weekday evenings)

REQUIRED MATERIALS:
-  12 – 20 images, uploaded as a single PDF file, no larger than 10MB, with one image per page.
-  CV, maximum 2 pages outlining your artistic or relevant professional accomplishments
-  Artist Statement, maximum 500 words describing your work and practice
-  Statement of Intent, maximum 500 words describing the project you intend to complete during the program, or if working on an ongoing series, a concrete goal that will be met by the end of the fellowship.

A portfolio review session will be held on Saturday, April 20, 12-2pm at Darkroom Detroit, 676 E Grand Blvd. All are welcome to attend but you must email us at info@darkroomdetroit.org to RSVP.

*** Accepted applicants will be required to attend monthly meetings to be scheduled on weekends or weekday evenings, or else forfeit their position in the program. Darkroom Detroit will make every effort possible to create meetings that work around all fellows' schedules.

Please also indicate your interest and ideas for developing a community program or workshop during the fellowship that relates to your practice.
Portfolio Images *
Upload as a single PDF file, no larger than 10MB, with one image per page. Your portfolio should ideally include only 1 or 2 bodies of work, judges will be looking for consistency of voice throughout the work. Show us your best work, thinking about it's flow from beginning to end.
