The Laurel District Association has been awarded a grant from the City of Oakland Violence Prevention Department to launch a pilot AMBASSADOR PROGRAM that supports businesses along MacArthur:  The Laurel, Bret Harte, and Dimond.

Your input is invaluable. We want target the grant funds at meeting YOUR needs I in order to help you thrive in business in this region of Oakland. Based on responses received, we will be curating workshops, webinars, resource toolkits, in-person ambassador support, and custom programs.

This survey covers the areas of:
1) Financial (access to capital),
2) Executive Functions (staffing support, professional serves),
3) Legal (lease negotiations, contracting),
4) Sales & Marketing (traditional and digital/social), and
5) Location/Property/Safety (security, policing).

After receiving participation from businesses like yours, and by demonstrating the ability to meet the needs of the local business community, the Laurel District Association will seek additional funding at the end of the 6-month pilot program to sustain the program. We believe the Ambassador Program can be a model in Oakland, and beyond, of how to serve the unique needs of businesses within unique districts.

Our goal is to deliver the technical, financial, and human support available in the region directly to the business owners, bridging the often vast gap between the two. Need help? Our Ambassadors are on the job!
