Hongoeka Syndicate visiting Te Papa- 25th & 28th March 2019
Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Re: Hongoeka Te Papa Visit

Hongoeka Syndicate has an exciting trip planned to Te Papa Tongarewa (Museum of New Zealand) in Wellington as part of our Ko Au unit (Me, Myself and I). Students will learn about the journeys of people to Aotearoa and how these journeys have shaped our unique New Zealand identity.

Our syndicate will visit on two different days, to cater for our large syndicate. The visit will be a chance to explore the Passports and the Mana Whenua exhibits as well as take part in the Arrivals education program.

We will be traveling by train to/from Plimmerton Station and then be walking to/from Wellington station, along the waterfront to/from Te Papa. Classes will have a staggered start when taking the train, to cater for our numbers. We will have lunch at Frank Kitts Park.

Students will need to have a packed lunch, sunscreen, pōtae (hat), sensible walking shoes, jumper and a light jacket in case of rain.

The cost of the trip will be $16, which includes the cost of the Te Papa educational session and train journeys.

Each class will need parent/caregiver help. Please note down on the permission slip below if you are able to assist with your child’s class, and the teacher will get in touch with you to confirm whether or not you are needed.
