MEEN Girls Director and Committee Application
Here are the descriptions of each Director/Committee duties.
The Outreach Committee is in charge of reaching out to current students at Texas A&M and growing the community of MEEN Girls (which include both females and males).Tasks for the director and committee include attending MELC meetings in order to discuss improvements that can be made within the MEEN Department, organizing representation at all organization fairs (such as MSC Open House), preparing for design competitions (such as SPARK and SWE STEM Fest), and promote engineering to grade school students.
The Public Relations Committee is in charge of all external advertisement for MEEN Girl Events. Tasks include running social media sites (such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram), updating the MEEN Girls website, taking and editing photos at events, creating flyers for events, and emailing societies and professor to advertise events.
The Events Committee is in charge of planning socials and organizing professional and educational events. Tasks include planning socials, room reservations, ordering food, organizing interactive speaker meetings, hand writing thank you notes, welcoming and socializing with company representatives, and growing company contacts. Lead a committee to help Freshman and increase their interest in mechanical engineering.
The Special Event Committee is in charge of all planning for the Aggie Women in STEM Conference in the spring and one fundraising event during the fall. The director will lead a team of 4-5 committee members in order to complete the assigned tasks. Tasks include room reservations, organizing catering, planning topics for presentations, event logistics, and more.
The Internal Relations Committee is in charge of all internal communications. Tasks include emailing all members with weekly updates, creating and managing the calendar, and managing the MEEN Girls email. Internal Relations will work closely with the Public Relations committee.
The Financial Committee is in charge of all finances for MEEN Girl Events. Tasks include collecting dues, keeping track of all financial and SOFC matters, ordering all merchandise, and searching for funding opportunities from MEEN Department, College of Engineering, and Industry.
