Coastal Federation Coastal Stewardship Scholarship Application
The Coastal Federation Coastal Stewardship Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship per student in recognition of outstanding dedication to our coastal environment.

Requirements: This scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in one of North Carolina’s 20 coastal counties to help offset education expenses at the college or university of the student’s choice, including community colleges. Coastal counties include: Beaufort, Bertie, Brunswick, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Hyde, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Pender, Perquimans, Tyrrell, and Washington.

Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to qualify. GPAs will be verified.

Evaluation: This award will be made by the Coastal Federation’s Scholarship Committee based on the following evaluation criteria:
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Past environmental accomplishments
• Future environmental plans
• Community involvement and volunteerism
• Personal interest in the coastal environment
• Special need for the scholarship
• Personal reference

Essay answers may be up to 250 words. Some questions can be answered in fewer words. Words beyond the 250-word limit will not be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered. No phone calls or emails, please.

Deadline: Applications must be received by 11:59pm on April 15th. The award decision will be announced on April 30th.
